Funeral Arrangements Set for Trainer Coty Davidson

Funeral arrangements have been finalized for trainer Coty Davidson, who was killed in an automobile accident Feb. 14. His girlfriend, jockey Megan Fadlovich, was seriously injured in the accident.

A gathering of family and friends in Davidson's honor will be held Feb. 24 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home in Bloomington, Indiana, with the funeral service Feb. 25 at 1:00 p.m. at the same location. For more information on services for Davidson, click here.

Davidson died when the vehicle in which he and Fadlovich were traveling on I-75 north of Ocala left the highway and flipped over. Fadlovich was ejected from the vehicle and over the side of the overpass they were on, falling 40 feet onto a guardrail on the road below. Davidson freed himself from the wreckage, but soon after fell off of the side of the same overpass in what officials suspect was an attempt to help Fadlovich. Davidson did not survive the fall. Davidson had two children, Ryder Cox (13) and Preslee Davidson (8).

Fadlovich survived the accident with significant injuries, including compound fractures of her femur.

“The National HBPA Foundation, through its assistance committee, has committed to donating funds to assist with Fadlovich's medical expenses and to contribute to a fund benefitting Davidson's children,” said Eric Hamelback, executive director of the National HBPA.

The National HBPA is also collecting donations for Davidson's children and for Fadlovich's medical expenses. To make a contribution, click here (add “Davidson,” Fadlovich” or “Davidson/Fadlovich” in the comment section to direct your contribution appropriately).
